Two people have been confirmed dead while many were rescued after rubble collapsed on scavengers at two demolition sites in Kano State on Thursday.

Kano State Government recently demolished some structures it said are illegal.
While one person died at the demolished Daula Hotel site, another person was confirmed dead at the Eid Ground demolition site.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Husaini Gumel, who was at the Daula Hotel scene of the incidents, said they have arrested 106 suspects scavenging around demolished structures in the state and will continue to provide security in the demolished sites.
