Fire gutted a building on the premises of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on Wednesday in the Ikeja area of the state.

It was gathered that the fire incident caused panic among workers and patients at the hospital.
The fire was said to have started around 4 pm.
The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, who confirmed the incident, said officials of the agency were mobilised to the scene, adding that the fire had been put out.
“It is a minor fire and it has been put out. Expect an official statement soon,” Adeseye said.
