The efforts of Zamfara State Government to attract the presence of a standard International Islamic University to the state has entered an advanced stage with a fruitful meeting of Zamfara State Government delegation with the co-founder of the University.

The delegation, led by the Secretary to the State Government, royally supported by the Emir of Maradun, Sarkin Kayan Maradun, Alhaji Garba Tambari, met with the co-founder of the University, As-Sheikh Khalifa Ibn Abdullah Alkhamoudi, in Makkah.
The delegation, which comprises of top civil servants, technocrats, academics, Clerics and traditional rulers, delivered the message of His Excellency, Dr Bello Muhammed to the Sheikh and informed him of the readiness and commitment of the State Government to provide all the necessary partnership requirements for the speedy establishment of the University in Zamfara State.

The Sheikh expressed his utmost joy and satisfaction in seeing the delegation which he said was an indication of seriousness and readiness to host the proposed University.
The discussions centered on the infrastructure and mode of study at the University which was agreed to be conventional. Hence, when established, the University will offer courses in Quranic Science, Hadith Studies, Medicine,Computer Science and Engineering as well as Geological Sciences.
As-Sheikh Khalifa assured that he and his team will soon pay a similar visit to Zamfara State to study the possibility of immediate take-off of the new University to be situated at Maradun Town of Maradun Local Government area of the state.
