The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday commences reconciliation and peace meeting with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in Abuja.

Wike came second in the hotly contested presidential primaries at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Stadium on Saturday.
The Network gathered that the reconciliation move was created by Atiku to enable the two party chieftains meet and fashion out a strong affiliation ahead of the 2023 presidential election against the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Atiku scored 371 votes to defeat Wike, who got 237 votes.

The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, one of the strongest aspirants for the presidential ticket at the last minute, stepped down and directed his supporters to vote for Atiku.
There are strong speculations that the Rivers State Government felt he was thrown under the bus and not congratulate Atiku on his emergence.
He was a strong ally of the Sokoto Governor whose last minute decision to back Atiku is celebrated to have handed over victory to the former Vice President.
