Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Etteh has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for allegedly receiving one hundred and thirty million naira out of a contract sum of 240million naira for the non-execution of a solar streetlight project in Akwa Ibom state in 2011.

According to Arise News the EFCC arrested former Speaker Etteh after several previous unanswered invitations.
The sources revealed that the former lawmaker was not the contractor of the solar streetlight project or on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission yet she somehow got the sum of 130million out of the total sum of 240million paid into her private account which later led to the failure of the project and its non-exectuion since 2011.
She is now to explain her involvement in the project to the EFCC.
