The extension is for the agency to investigate the assets Kyari claimed to own in a viral video.
Abba Kyari confessed to the ownership of the choice estates in Lekki, Victoria Island, Lagos; Gussappe and Highbrow Asokoro in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Vanguard reports. It was learnt that NDLEA operatives gave him an asset verification form to fill and are attempting to verify the properties he claimed he claimed were his in the video.
It was also learnt that forensic analysis of the exhibits recovered from the suspects and other accomplices was done to get more suspects involved in the cocaine deal arrested.

However, the agency has reportedly tightened security in and around their headquarters at Gambia, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, following fears that attempts may be made to free Abba Kyari and other police officers allegedly involved in the drug deal.
This came following information made available to top officials of the agency that adequate care and security measures must be taken to ensure the suspects are broken out of detention.
The report further revealed that no visitor has been allowed into the premises of the agency based on stern directives given by their boss, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, that the suspects should not escape.
