“The apex of CAN in the northern Nigeria is a progressive oriented body with a fundamental aim of enhancing developmental issues that has to do with human lives and the responsibility pertaining to God-fearing people.

“Based on its objectives, the Association gives priority only to worthy politicians who adequately, sincerely represents the interest of the people regardless of their faith, their color, origin and their language.
“One of the greatest burdens of responsibilities of leadership is to volunteer and articulate the application of state, the distribution of wealth and the purpose to which is being used for.
“We have seen you effectively managing resources and we can testify for him as a man of integrity, and this are the people that we members of Northern CAN reckon with.
“We need a leader that leads by personal example and thereby retains the moral authority to stand out, speak, be courageous in public, act and demonstrate by action what is good and meant for leadership.
“And therefore, we agree with you and that is why we are here today.
“We need leaders today like you that do not allow contradictions of religion, ethnicity. You are a man of integrity.
“We have seen in you a detribalized Nigerian, a great friend of the poor, a man with the fear of God, a peace maker, a man that is so close to the youths.
“The name Yahaya rings a bell in the political spectrum today due to your track record,” Pam noted.

Pam also appreciated Bello for allowing himself to be used by God in touching the lives of many, and putting smiles on the face of people not only in Kogi but Nigeria in general.
Responding, Bello appreciated the Association for finding him worthy to be visited and also for appreciating the modest achievement of his administration.
Bello who ascribed all his successes to God said he will continue to embark on programmes and projects that will continue to uplift the people of Kogi and Nigeria.
The governor noted that as the youngest governor, he strongly encouraged Nigerian youths to get involved in politics so that the country can produce more young governors and the youngest President come 2023.
“I am very much aware that I am the youngest governor in Kogi State, this is my sixth year in office.

“And I wish that come 2023, we will have younger governors in this country and of course, produce the youngest President by the grace of God.
“It is only someone that does not appreciate God almighty that will ascend to this office today and will be carried away by the distractions of this office and not stick to the will of God.
“And if you stick to the will of God, integrity, honesty, equitability, fairness and justice will always guide your way and that is exactly what we are exhibiting as we are in the office.
“When I reflect on my ascension into this office, I will never allow to be coward by any sentiment.
“I will continue to be courageous and brave in every decision that I will take that I know will please God Almighty and largely satisfy the generality of my people.
“And I will continue to produce all programmes and projects that will satisfy the people of Kogi State.
“We met a state that was largely divided against herself in terms of tribes or ethnicity, religion and tribe difference, but we made all of this a taboo.
“And we ensured that whether you are a Muslim or Christian, you are adequately accommodated in our administration.
“Therefore today, Kogi State has not witnessed any major religious crises ever since I assumed office,” Bello said.
