A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, representing Akpabuyo State constituency, Lady Elizabeth Edem, Ironbar has died.
She was a two-term member of the Assembly, inaugurated in June 2015, into the 9th Assembly.

Family sources confirmed the death early morning of Wednesday.
A serving lawmaker in the State, Efa Esua representing Calabar Municipality constituency, has also confirmed it.
It was reported that she died following a protracted illness.
Before her death, Elizabeth Ironbar was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP. She won her election and reelection in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

She is the second lawmaker in this tenure that has died after Godwin Akwaji who represented Obudu State constituency died in June 2020.
She championed the Cross River State Disability Commission bill and was seen as a no nonsense and tough politician.
She is one of the seven members in the Cross River State House of Assembly who refused to join Governor Ben Ayade to the All Progressives Congress APC few months ago.
