Deposed Emir of Kano, His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II has arrived Lagos from Abuja after leaving Awe, Nasarawa State, earlier in the day.
He arrived Lagos aboard a private jet at around 11:35pm.
The former monarch was escorted to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, where he met with former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Abdulrahman Dambazzau and other eminent Northern elites.
A Federal High Court had earlier on Friday ordered his immediate release from confinement in Awe, Nasarawa State.
Sanusi was dethroned by a unanimous decision of the Kano State Executive Council on Monday over alleged disrespect to the office of the governor and “other lawful authorities”.
The former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is expected to reunite with members of his family in Lagos.
