The House of Representatives on Tuesday suspended plenary over the deadly disease, COVID-19.
The suspension according to the legislators is to enable the management of the National Assembly, put measures in place against the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Josiah Idem moved the motion for the suspension, and Ndudi Elumelu seconded it.
The nation’s health authorities are trying to contain the virus after an Italian man who flew into Lagos from Milan, Italy, was diagnosed with the disease last Thursday according to health authorities.
The patient who’s name has never been mentioned has since been isolated at a hospital in the Lagos is “clinically stable” and has not developed severe symptoms to date.
