The Igbo Elders Council are calling for urgent actions to stop the current genocide against the Igbos in the southeast.
Chairman of the Council, Chukwemeka Ezeife made the call while addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

Ezeife who is advocating for dialogue said the use of military force won’t restore peace.
He added that, the Igbo Elders are ready and available to be part of the dialogue process for restoration of peace in the country.
Ezeife further gives statistics of the number of young men that have dead as a result of the security situation in the southeast saying over five thousand youths have been killed while more than ten thousand others are languishing in detention camps.
The Chairman of the Council also lamented over the poor conduct of security operatives in the region.
