There were some eyebrows raised when veteran left-back Marcelo’s name was left off the team sheet for Thursday’s clash, especially given that fellow full-back Ferland Mendy is out for the rest of the campaign.
According to Goal the Brazilian’s absence is as a result of a furious bust-up he had with Zidane during training on Tuesday.

They claim that the 33-year-old has been less than impressed with his manager’s tactics and starting line-ups of late, and feel they have cost the side dear in recent weeks.
Things came to a head during Tuesday’s session, with the two men believed to have had a heated argument.

The Brazilian has been at Real Madrid since 2007 since joining from Fluminense, making more than 370 appearances. He is a five-time LaLiga winner and four-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid.
