Embattled Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha has lost his ambassadorial deal with a real estate and property firm, Matrix Homes & Properties Limited.
This was triggered by the controversies that surrounded his arrest and detention by the Lagos State Police after he molested a minor.
The victim is the foster daughter of Nigerian Comedienne, Oluwadamilola Adekoya popularly known as Princess.
Princess had narrated how she planted a CCTV in her house in order to get proof against Baba Ijesha after the victim revealed her ordeal 7 years ago with the actor.
A video was also released online where Baba Ijesha admitted to child molestation and begged to die instead of being handed to authorities.
“I don’t know what happened to me. I plead with you, please, let me commit suicide. I know I have done something wrong, please forgive me,” he said in the video.

On Friday, the real estate and property firm via its Instagram story distanced the accused from its brand and noted that the actor ceases to be its brand ambassador due to “his recent misconduct”.
“Matrix Homes and Properties Ltd wishes to bring to the attention of our customers and members of the public that Omiyinka Olanrewaju James AKA Baba Ijesha has ceased to be a brand ambassador of our company following his recent misconduct which is antithetical to our company’s values. Matrix Homes and Properties, therefore, disassociates itself in entirety from Baba Ijesha.”
Meanwhile, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Team (DSRVT) has said it is actively following up on the case and assured its commitment to ensuring justice for the victim.
