Akpan while confirming this didn’t give reason for the cancellation of the discussions which were meant to get the polytechnic lecturers and judiciary workers to call off their industrial action.
ASUP are demanding the implementation of the 2014 NEEDS Report, the release of revitalisation fund to the sector, reconstitution of governing councils in federal polytechnics and state-owned institutions, amongst others.
The judiciary workers on the other hand are asking for the financial autonomy of the judiciary and the implementation of Executive Order 10 signed by the President Muhammdu Buhari in May 2020.
