The House of Assembly bye-election for Ekiti East Constituency one in Ekiti State was on Saturday marred by violence as political thugs unleashed mayhem on voters and security agents.
The seat became vacant following the death of Juwa Adegbuyi in February who represented the constituency.

The election process which was closely monitored by Control TV correspondent started quite peacefully as people came out in their various numbers to vote under the surprisingly friendly weather.

However, chaos broke out about three hours into the election in ward 7, unit 7 of the Senator representing Ekiti South, Biodun Olujimi.

According to valid source, three persons including a policewoman have been killed by the political thugs while about five persons are receiving treatment in a private hospital.
The shootings happened three hours into the poll as thugs armed to the teeth stormed the polling unit.
The senator who was lucky to escape the deadly attack as thugs went on rampage in her polling units inflicting harm upon harmless voters.
