Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases increased further on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, with 479 new infections.
The Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its daily update on Coronavirus via its official twitter page.
The NCDC’s data revealed that the new infections were reported in 21 States and the FCT.

Lagos accounted for the highest number of infections for the day with 153 cases, followed by Enugu -75 and Rivers-50.
Others are; FCT-40, Kaduna-18, Ebonyi-17, Plateau-17, Edo-17, Borno-16, Oyo-12, Kano-11, Abia-10, Cross River-10, Taraba-9, Nasarawa-7, Bauchi-4, Bayelsa-3, Delta-3, Ekiti-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Akwa Ibom-1.
The report further disclosed that a total of 647 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while 8 persons died of complications.
This takes the nation’s total infections to 156,496; 134,551 recoveries and 1,923 deaths.
