A Federal High Court in Lagos had granted internet celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, a bail of N100 million.
Mompha was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on October 19 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja for alleged fraud.
The anti-graft agency arrested the suspected internet fraudster on Monday and charged him on 14-count.
Mompha arraignment follows a fundamental rights enforcement suit he instituted against the EFCC for detaining him beyond the constitutionally stipulated days without charging him to court.
When arraigned, he pleaded not guilty to N33 billion money laundering charge levelled against him by the EFCC.
Justice Mohammad Liman of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi had adjourned the matter to (Friday) for hearing of his bail application and commencement of trial.
At today’s hearing, the court granted the suspect internet fraudster a bail.
