The Imo state police command has confirmed that Former Governor of Imo state and Senator representing Imo west senatorial district Rochas Okorocha has been invited for questioning by the Imo state commissioner of police Nasiru Mohammed following his alleged involvement and forceful entry into a property that was confiscated by the Imo state government.
In a statement by the Public relations officer of the command, Orlando Ikeokwu the command received a distress call that there was commotion and Violence at Royal spring palm hotel located at Akachi road in owerri a property allegedly linked to the wife of the former Governor Nkechi Okorocha but confiscated only two days ago on Friday 19 Feb 2021.
He says in order to ensure that there’s no breakdown of law and order in the state, the Police swung into action to maintain peace and invited Senator Rochas Okorocha who was said to have forcefully gained access into the premises with his security details without any notice to the state government or security operatives.
It was gathered that this action by the former Governor led to a arguments between the security details of the former Governor and security operatives attached to the sealed property.
The results were visible as several vehicles were destroyed while some people sustained varying degrees of injury.
However, the Police PRO says full investigation has commenced to ascertain what transpired.

SUBJECT: THE UNEXPECTED, UNPROVOKED & UNWARRANTED ATTACK ON SENATOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA
More than 1000 thugs, armed to teeth with knives and guns and led by Chinasa Nwaneri, governor Hope Uzodinma’s Special Adviser on Special Duties today, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, with the backing of armed policemen from Government House, attacked the former governor of the State and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Rochas Okorocha’s Convoy. They attacked and damaged all the Vehicles in his Convoy. They also attacked his personal aides.
Senator Okorocha was with only his personal aides when the thugs unleashed the attack.
This is the information we can give as at now.
We are still watching events as they unfold.
Okorocha has the strongest political structure in the state and teaming followers in the State. If he had expected the attacked, he would not have moved with his personal aides alone.
Okorocha has never been a violent man. This planned attack but unprovoked and unwarranted, has opened a new, but ugly chapter in the politics of the State.
