President Muhammadu Buhari has yet to Appoint an inspector general of police AIG. News fillers suggested that President Buhari was considering the appointment of Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, as the new Acting Inspector General of Police.
Speculations were on if the president will allow an extension for AIG Adamu using his Presidential powers in line with relevant sections of the constitution, and allow the IGP to continue for another term in office despite his retirement date on February.
Presidential Aide Femi Adesina has advised that any change if guard will be communicated to the public as soon as possible and has advised that everyone should hold on for the final decision concerning the vexed issue.
