Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has made it categorically clear that he lacks the ability to defect to the All Progressives Party APD or any other party for that matter.

The Rivers state governor made this known in a statement on Friday, December 11 by Kelvin Ebiri his media aid, Governor Wike said since he lacks the ability to defect to the APC or another political party, he will continue to do what he can to ensure the survival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

I

The governor said this after claiming that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP is causing disunity in the party and are not interested in taking over from the APC in 2023.

In His words:

“I will not allow anybody to kill PDP. They have capacity to move to APC. I don’t and I cannot move to APC. “So, anybody that tries to do something to destroy PDP, I will not allow you. Anybody that I see that has the trait to destroy the PDP, I will not allow it.”

Meanwhile, in another report, Governor Wike has said that his Benue counterpart, Samuel Ortom, has no plan to return to the APC, contrary to unverified, viral claims. Wike made this declaration while he commissioned road projects completed by governor Ortom in Makurdi and Guma areas of the state.

In the meantime Benue State has been mourning the killings of four persons in a night attack on a community. Thw attack has left several persons hospitalised.
