Former Super Eagles International Daniel Amokachi has backed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to break the record of late Nigerian star Rashidi Yekini who was superb during his active playing time in the national team and all the clubs he played for, Rashidi Yekini was one of the brilliant strikers in the world considering the number of goals he scored.
Yekini was also the first Nigerian player to score in a World Cup game when the West African nation appeared at the 1994 edition in the United States. Between 1984 to 1998, Rashidi Yekini scored 37 goals for the Super Eagles in 58 games and the record has not been broken since he died eight years ago
Victor Osimhen is currently a 21-year-old player and has played nine games for the Super Eagles scoring four goals since 2017. According to a report on Complete Sports, Daniel Amokachi who played with Rashidi Yekini in the Super Eagles is of the belief that Osimhen can break the record of the deceased.

He said:
”I have said it over and over again injury-free Osimhen will… he will be one of the best ever goal scorer that ever come out of this country. What he possesses Yekini doesn’t, Osimhen is very skillful, Yekini is not skillful.
“If you combine the speed, skill and strength that he has, and he’s one player that can bully a defender for 90 minutes, then why not.
The 21-year-old was unable to play for the Super Eagles in their last two friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia as the Nigerian Football Federation told him to stay in Italy due to the threat of COVID-19. Nigeria squared up with Sierra today Friday November 13, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, Edo state, the game ended 4-4 with all invited players available for the encounter.
Super Eagles earlier won their first two games in the qualifiers and they are topping Group L with at the moment.
