The Accountant General of the Federation Alhaji Ahmed Idris, has stated that the recent Implementation of Oriented Workshop for Revenue Directors to enable the Federal Government embed directors into Its owned Enterprises [FGOEs] was put in place in Other to boost revenue for the Nation.
The AGF made this known in an exclusive interview with Control TV in Abuja the Nation’s capital in commemoration of Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.
He stated that the Office of the Accountant General And the Minister of Finance actualized the implementation of the policy through a committee made up of representative of ministry departments and key stakeholders in revenue generation.
10 directors had already been chosen for the Pilot Exercise, but speaking on-increment, The AGF stated that the FG are looking to increase the number of Directors so as to expand more deployable revenue agencies and institution.
Speaking on The Transparency Portal Launched by the Federal Government, The AGF stated that it has helped the Nation in all manner.
He further stressed that other agencies have been included to ensure more effectiveness of the portal.
Mr Ahmed stated that a steering committee has also been put in place so as to enhance its transparency in which any non Governmental Agencies and Individuals can access the portal in other to get knowledge of the Federal Government Expenditures.
