Manchester United are hoping to sign a striker before the upcoming transfer deadline and have held talks with free agent Edinson Cavani, while they are also monitoring Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.
Cavani is currently without a club after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season and represents an appealing option given the lack of transfer fee.
Jovic, meanwhile, has struggled since moving to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and United are open to offering him an escape route from the Santiago Bernabeu to revitalise his career.
The Premier League giants have opened talks both with Cavani’s representatives and Real Madrid as they look to land a striker before the transfer window slams shut next Monday, according to Di Marzio.
