Lagos State Commissioner for Health Akin Abayomi has resumed his duty as deputy incident commander after recovering from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On his return to work on Thursday, Prof Abayomi, according to a tweet by the ministry, made a brief stop at the office of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso to thank him.
“Looking refreshed & fit, @ProfAkinAbayomi quickly paid a thank you visit to the Commissioner for Information & Strategy @gbenga_omo whose office is in thesame building as his.
“The visibly elated @gbenga_omo who welcomed @ProfAkinAbayomi back to work thanked him for his sacrifices,” the ministry said.
Mr Omotoso had announced in a statement on Monday that Abayomi tested negative for coronavirus just one week after he tested positive.
“He will be returning to his full duties gradually and remains resolute in delivering the mandate of Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whom he says stood by him steadfastly in these trying times and is very appreciative of,” he had said.
