The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night announced 685 new COVID-19 infections.
The new cases which indicate a decline when compared with the figures reported in about 2 months, take the total confirmed cases in the country to 131,242.
According to the NCDC’s report via it’s official twitter account disclosed that the fresh cases were recorded in 16 states of the federation.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis shows that Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with 355 infections.
Others are; Kaduna (58), Nasarawa (46), Kano (40), Akwa Ibom (33), Katsina (26), Ogun (25), Osun (21), Rivers (16), Edo (15), Oyo (13), Ondo (12), Borno (11), Ekiti (9), Kebbi (3), and Plateau (2).
It added that 8 persons died from complications resulting from the virus.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,277 COVID-19 patients recovered and had been discharged from various isolation facilities across Nigeria.
“Our discharges today include 901 community recoveries in Lagos State and 123 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.”
