The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State that the party won’t tolerate a campaign of calumny ahead of the 2023 general elections.

A press statement signed by Hon. Hakeem Amode the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the main opposition party on Thursday noted that the leadership of the PDP has been informed by a reliable source about the plan by the ruling party in Lagos State to disrupt the peace of the residents in the state using their touts and blame the PDP for such a heinous act.

The statement reads;
“The leadership of our party PDP have been informed by a reliable source the sinister plan of the ruling APC government in Lagos state to distrupt the peace of the residents in the state using their enabled touts and eventually blame our party PDP for such heinous act. We have gathered that the party is currently printing our party logo on Tshirts to be distributed to these touts so they can appear as if they are supporters of our party.
We are using this medium to call the attention of our security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), international organizations and well meaning individuals in the state to warn the ruling APC to desist from their campaign of calumny against our candidates and our party and tell the people what they have achieved in the state in the last 23 years beyond the cosmetics development currently going on and why their party deserved to be reelected rather than using hoodwinking to coarse people to vote for them.
We have also observed that the party lacks ideology and people who could critically think for them which has led to copycat of our campaign ideas and we forgive them for that. The APC voters inducement currently going on is also worth mentioning and we urge relevant authorities to safeguard our democracy by allowing level playing grounds and also to ensure that the people are given the opportunity to elect their desired leader without any form of intimidation, harassment or inducement.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu abysmal performance in the last three years can not be reversed. the continuous looting of Lagos commonwealth by the self acclaimed emperor emilokan will not be overlook by the electorate at this time and we are urging the present APC government to begin to put together his handling over note because come 2023 the people of Lagos will fight for the heart of Lagos and APC and their cankerworms government would be voted out of office.
