Two persons were reportedly burnt to death, while two others sustained injuries Wednesday in a ghastly accident that occurred along the old Ado-Iyin road, in Ekiti State.
The accident which happened in Iyin-Ekiti, few kilometers to Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, involved two vehicles in a head-on-collision.
Information gathered revealed that the crash happened when a Toyota Previa vehicle had a head-on collision with a white Toyota bus which later went ablaze in the process.
The Toyota Previa was heading towards Ado-Ekiti, while the bus was said to be moving towards Iyin-Ekiti.
An eyewitness, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said the accident occurred when the Toyota Previa vehicle en route Ado-Ekiti was negotiating at a turning point while the Toyota bus outbound the state capital was on high speed.

According to him, two occupants of the bus were burnt to death while two occupants of the Toyota Previa survived the accident with various degrees of injuries, adding that they were receiving treatment at the hospital.
It was gathered that the accident caused total blockage of the road at the scene of the crash, forcing motorists to divert to alternative route.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ekiti State Command, ASP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the accident but said one person died.
Abutu said: “Two vehicles coming from opposite direction had head on collision. In the process, one of the occupants got trapped and died. Another occupant who got injured was immediately rushed to the hospital by the police for medical attention.
Only one person died. The woman got trapped inside the vehicle after the collision and the sympathisers couldn’t remove her in time.
