Ibrahim Magu the Former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is said to have allegedly embezzled over N39billion during his time as the chairman.
According to reports Magu gave Vice President Yemi Osinabjo the sum of N4billion, after the VP instructed him to release some of the recovered loots.
According to reports some EFCC staff members suspected to accomplices of Magu invaded the headquarters of the anti-graft agency and carted away with files, documents and computers accessories containing important information.
The unnamed source stated that Magu had sold recovered properties, vehicles, houses sized by the EFCC.
Also Over 167 recovered trucks missing from its Port Harcourt office, could not be accounted for. while 27 of those trucks recovered, were sold this year.
Control TV Gathered that the former EFCC boss, Magu consistently ignored requests of assistance to investigate and recover about N67billion by other financial crime agencies including the office of the Inspector General of Police and the Presidency.
Also Ibrahim Magu could not account for missing N37billion as indicated in the submitted report of the presidential asset recovery panel headed by the chairman of the FIRS.
Specifically, Magu was said to have mentioned a N4billion that he released to the VP based on directives On the day the president left the country for the United Kingdom on medical treatment.
According to source Magu was obstinate on monday when the security agencies came to pick him up.
